Why Calculating Volume of Pipe Fittings
There are less information on calculating the volume of Equal Tee, but people still want to know for many reasons, such as calculating the water capacity.

Equal Tee Volume Formula
They are more easily to calculate because their straight shape can be seen as straight pipes somehow connected to each other. So you can calculate its volume as straight pipes. Therefore, you should know the inner radius of equal tee and its height ( or length ) of the run and branch. And then insert the values into volume formula for a cylinder and add the results up.
Volume = pi ( or 3.14 )x radius squared x height.
By this way, you can get approximate volume of pipe tee
If this way doesn’t work for your situation, maybe the best way to calculate the volume is using water and a graduated container. The calculation of Unequal Tee is much more difficult, so you can choose this method.
ASME B16.9 Butt Weld Equal Tee
Sometimes you need to know the volume when you only have the diameter and schedule, or pressure, what should you do? Luckily, the volume chart can help you solve the problem.
Seamless Tee and Welded Tee ( ERW Equal Tee ) are both Butt Weld Tee, the specification standard is ASME B16.9. They have a large size range, so it is impossible to list all values.
The butt weld equal tee volume only varies with their nominal size. You can quickly find the value of volume, but this chart not includes all nominal sizes so you may not find the value you want to know.

Socket Weld Equal Tee
It is more like threaded tee in dimensions even though it is a weld connection fitting like a butt weld tee. The size range is 1/8 to 4 inch, and pressure rating is Class 3000, Class 6000 and Class 9000. The volume of Socket Weld Equal Tee is related to those two factors. In the volume chart, it lists the normal nominal size in the size range and all pressure ratings, which can meet the basic needs of users.
Threaded Equal Tee
Threaded Tee and Socket Weld Tee are forgings and both complied to ASME B16.11, and they have same dimension range. So their volumes chart has the same values.
What’s more, all volumes in chart, is the outline volume of a single product and the space occupied when packing. In another word, they are the volumes of a packaged product.
